      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gensler (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2025

      Interview

This was a three-part interview. The first was a remote screening interview, which was initiated early August. The next interview was in person, about two weeks later with two members of the team. The third interview was the following week, with two more members; I had an expiring offer elsewhere so it seemed like HR was willing to expedite the process. Both in person interviews were similarly structured; talking about skill, interests, etc, and sharing portfolio, followed by more in depth discussions. Every member of the team that I talked to had different perspectives and interests, all were great to talk to and very kind, interesting people.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The questions were largely what you would expect; discuss two selected portfolio projects (ideally that reflect both skill and what you uniquely offer as a designer), discuss skill level in revit, experience in the profession so far, etc.
      Answer question
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gensler (New York, NY) in Jan 2024

      Interview

Standard nothing out of the ordinary. Sat down with two senior designers and went through my work history and portfolio. We Toured the office. Discussed projects and benefits. Easy interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Gensler (Tampa, FL)

      Interview

Disorganized recruiting process. 1) Phone Screening w/ Corporate Recruiter out in Washington D.C. after 1 year of applying for the open position. 2) Tampa Recruiter invites me for a virtual interview. 2) First Round Interview w/ Senior-Level Staff in Tampa. 3) Corporate Recruiter emails to say they have filled their design opening. 4) Yet, Tampa Recruiter invites me for 2nd virtual interview. 5) Second Round Interview w/ Tampa Studio Directors. Interviewers appeared disinterested. Poor coordination between recruiting from corporate and recruiting from the local office. Complete waste of time for everyone involved.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - What was your project team structure like? - How comfortable are you with Grasshopper? - Were you the direct point of contact for clients? - What was it like collaborating with your teammates? - What's the ideal project that you want to take on?
