      HR Manager Interview

      Feb 25, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Genuine Parts Company (Atlanta, GA)

      Interview

The phone interview was great. The in-person interview went okay. The interviewer was very cold and remarkably un-rememberable. I have zero respect for companies and their disdain for candidates by not following-up with candidates. Very disrespectful.

      Human Resources Manager Interview

      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Genuine Parts Company (Sacramento, CA) in Jul 2019

      Interview

This was the second time I've interviewed with GPC. The first was for the Director position that I did not move forward in the process. I was transparent in letting the hiring manager know as he was the one who did the initial screening and asked me to come in for an in-person interview. I thought I did well in the interview and was eager to move forward in the process. I was told that they wanted to move quickly and that I should hear by the following week. I followed up with an email to the hiring manager the following week and did not receive a response; I followed again the week after and no response; then I followed up again in the third week asking for some type of closure stating that I'm assuming the position has been filled (even though the job kept popping up on different sites). I just wanted to be able to close the loop. Still no response. I reached out to the HR Generalist after that and she quickly responded and told me that they have moved forward with another candidate. I thought the interview itself was fine, but it did leave a very bad impression when I didn't receive any follow-up from the hiring manager after three attempts. Granted, he could have forwarded it to someone to respond, but after the third attempt, it would have been nice to at least acknowledge the oversight in communication. I will say the first time I interviewed, I had a similar experience, however, it didn't go on for this long with no response. My thought is if you intend on going through the interview process, please be prepared that if you don't get a call/email right away after interviewing, more than likely you are not moving forward in the process.
