I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences in Sep 2021
Interview
The entire process took just under three months.
It started with a HR phone screen with a great recruiter that maintained regular communication with me during the entire process.
Two weeks later I had a 1:1 video interview with the hiring manager that went well and I was advanced to the next round which was a panel interview.
A full month lapsed between the two. The panel interview was a series of 45 minute zoom calls with 5 different people including another meeting with the hiring manager. One of the interviewers opened with some small talk about us both living in California and proceeded to share some pretty intense political views on current affairs that I felt were inappropriate. During the panel interview with the hiring manager I received extensive positive feedback in the moment. She closed the interview by asking me to provide references and wanted to know how soon I could start. Great!
One week later the recruiter called to tell me that I was one of two finalists and that the hiring manager wishes she could combine the two of us into one person as that would be the perfect fit. But.... since she cant; she decided not to hire either one of us and was going to repost the job! This was after the hiring manager started the process with telling me that getting this position filled was her top priority and wanted to move fast.

Interview
Detailed multi-round interview process over the course of a few weeks including HR screening, 3-person panel interview and 6 individual interviews. Very thorough but repetitive and exhausting with all the individual interviews stacked on top of each other.
