All scheduling and communication was managed by the Recruitment Specialist in HR, and she was very prompt and clear in her communications and flexible with the scheduling. I had a total of 4 interviews plus a take-home design exercise. The first interview was very scripted and structured, with more generic interview questions, then each interview got progressively more specialized with questions pertaining more to the role. Everyone was really thorough and the questions were fairly tough. There was a 3 week gap between the design exercise and the final interview because their Universe Event was happening, which they did clearly communicate and sent the calendar invite for the interview for 3 weeks out, but PHEW that really threw me off and interrupted the momentum of the process. I made it all the way to the final round, and they let me know the team was having trouble deciding and needed more time. So it took about a week for a decision, and they went with the other candidate. I appreciate that the Recruitment Specialist scheduled a video call to tell me in person, and explained how everything ended up going down during the decision making process. She said I did everything right, my work was what they were looking for, I interviewed great, and everyone loved me, but that it came down to a "subjective decision" and she couldn't give me any more detail than that. Still not quite sure how I feel about that lack of any real reason for the rejection, but that's all I'm going to get I guess. The entire process from first contact to rejection call was right at 2 months.
