Applied online and controller contacted me after two weeks of application. Controller gave a brief background of the company and his working experience. Controller was impress with qualification and wanted an on-site interview.
Then I was contacted by the recruiter to schedule an on-site interview. This is where the ball was dropped. I confirmed a date and time with the recruiter. The recruiter did not responded until the day of my on-site interview. However, I proceeded with the on-site.
I arrived to their office 15-20 minutes before my scheduled interview and waited in reception area (known as the oval office). I had to signed a NDA good for 90-days. The recruiter came to get me and was already 10-minutes late on the confirm time.
I was given a basic assessment test--nothing difficult. I first met with the controller. I was asked some basic questions. The Accounting Manager, AP manager, Staff Accountant and Payroll Manager all took time to ask questions. It appeared they were more interested in how my current company's accounting department operated than their own Accounting/Finance department.
My interview was in the evening, two-thirds in to my meeting and all of sudden it abruptly ends. I discovered that everyone in the room except me was scheduled to attend a cooking class the company was offering. The Staff Accountant was nice enough to apologize. In addition, the Staff Accountant gave me a brief tour of the office and informed me the Controller would contact me if they were to present an offer letter.
Everyone in the office is really laid back. Office is very open like a fish bowl setting.
