Long Paragraph ahead:-
It was walk-in drive,I applied by sending my resume to HR. There were three rounds:
An aptitude test (online) technical interview (face 2 face) and a
A managerial round
The aptitude test was tough, fully proctored, and included multiple sections like Git, DevOps, and AWS. They didn't reveal the passing percentage, and we were never informed about the results.
After clearing this test, I received an interview invite from HR for the technical round. I’m not sure why they even call it a walk-in drive.
My experience with the technical round was the worst. I waited there for 3-4 hours. Then at interview When the interviewer finally saw my resume, he immediately said, "You are not fit for this role," without asking me a single question. He was a DevOps architect,(a brown fat guy). He said, "It's a DevOps role; you some have other experience, so what should I ask you?" I was like, "Dude, what the heck?!" Hadn’t they even seen my resume yet? I sent it to HR over email, took a test, and received an invite, and in all this process, no one bothered to look at my resume even once. It’s pathetic! I'm a straightforward person—if I’m not suitable for the job, then don't invite me. Simple as that.
As if this wasn't enough, the interviewer started giving me career advice about what I should do next, and he even began overestimating his career and work, bragging about his achievements. I was really annoyed. At that point, I felt I shouldn’t have come and instead stayed home to get some sleep. I respect the interviewer's knowledge, but I felt he was unable to evaluate candidates effectively. Plus, giving interviewee carrer advice and talking about his own life. this is completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
The most ridiculous part is that candidates who scored as low as 20-30% on that "tough" test were also invited to the interview. If they weren’t going to filter candidates based on the test results, why conduct the test in the first place? It was an absolute waste of time for everyone involved.
To top it off, they had openings for QA, full stack, .NET, and Java on the same day, creating total chaos. And after two days, some friends of mine received emails saying they'd cleared the round and would have a final HR round soon. Guess what? HR ghosted them completely, and no one received an offer.
