      Customer Happiness Agent Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at GoFundMe (Dublin, Dublin)

      Interview

I applied for this role on LinkedIn. I got an email 21 days later from someone in HR (I thought I didn't get it at that point) asking me to complete a written assessment (questions below). After completing the assessment, another 12 days pass and I don't hear back so I send a follow-up email. I get an email back telling me I made it through to the next round which was a phone screening with HR. This was a very pleasant conversation over Google Hangouts (HR is in San Diego) and lasted around 30 mins. Questions were pretty straight forward, mainly asking me about my background and a few behavioural questions too (a time I went above and beyond, why GoFundMe, etc). About two days later I found out that I got through to the next round, which was an onsite with the Dublin team the following week. The onsite was super interesting. I met with the team leader and she showed me a tour of the Dublin office. She then had me shadow one of the Customer Happiness Agents for about 15 minutes; you take this time to ask as many questions as possible. I found this a little odd, as this is something you typically do once you have the job. Following that, the team leader brought me into a room, along with a Senior Customer Happiness Agent. Before the interview started, they gave me a written assessment in Spanish as I was going for the bilingual role. It was just one question 'Describe GoFundMe to a friend' (in Spanish in my case). After that, the interview followed. It was pretty straight forward, with the team leader asking me about my background and behavioural questions, and the Senior Customer person asking me about me as a person. They are such a small and close family in the Dublin office that they want to make sure they hire the right person. She also talked to me about the company culture. The final part of the day was a chat with one of the Spanish workers in the office. The onsite lasted around 1 hour and a half. The whole day was very fun and didn't feel like an interview at all. I left feeling very positive and also very confident that I got the job. However, I received an email the following week from HR telling me that I didn't get the job. Honestly, I was really disappointed as I was sure I had it. I think what happened is the team made me feel so at ease and at home in the office, that I probably let my guard down a bit, so this is something to note! Overall, my experience was positive with GoFundMe and the hiring process was interesting, albeit a bit drawn out and sometimes a little too positive, because they make you feel like you're already part of the company, and then let you down.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Tell me about your last or current position - what did you like about your position and the company itself? 2. What did you dislike about your position and the company? 3. Which experiences have shaped your philosophy of customer service? Please also list any specific authors, books, blogs, or mentors you've learned from. 4. We’d like you to set up a test GoFundMe campaign (strictly for testing purposes - you can run an actual campaign if you want to, but this isn’t necessary) to give our product a try. Then, share your observations about features that are particularly great, don't work well, or don't make sense. Beyond the fact that some campaign organizers don't use social media or don't already have a network of potential donors, where do you think our customers might run into issues? 5. Please craft a response to the following question from one of our customers: Hello GoFundMe team, I haven't raised any money for my campaign yet, I only have a few Facebook friends and it's been posted for almost a week now. What am I doing wrong?

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at GoFundMe in Mar 2021

      Interview

The process took a very long time. It started with a test, there are many examples of the topics that were covered in the written text here on previous Glassdoor posts. After the written exam, I was contacted for a phone interview with a recruiter in the US. It was very short and I was delighted to move on to the next interview. Although I was expecting an interview, it was a remote test to evaluate my english skills. I didn't like that there were other candidates at the beginning of the call. It felt like they wanted candidates to know there were other people there fighting for the same job, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. The test was very complicated. After hearing I passed, I was even happier to move on to the next interview. It was all done remotely and I got to talk to some people in Dublin. The whole interview took more than 2 hours. I was exhausted at the end, but I thought that it went really well. There was a shadowing session and also an informal chat with a current employee. After this round, I was invited to the final interview. This was also supposed to be an informal chat, but this time there was only a person present, a manager. I don't know what happened, but I think this one didn't go as well because I was told at the end of it to wait at least 2 more weeks for an update. I didn't hear anything else from them, so after about 2 weeks I decided to send in an email to check in with recruiter. To my disappointment, I received a standard rejection email that left me feeling very cold. Thankfully, I had read other people's reviews here on Glassdoor that described a similar experience, so I wasn't completely unprepared. However, the disappointment I felt was huge as I really felt that the 2+ hours interview went really well and felt that the final interview would be just a formality. My disappointment was also increased by the fact that I had to write an email to get a response. I believe that if I hadn't, I would never have heard back from them. I would probably still be here waiting. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience, especially considering all the time that I took preparing for and participating in the interview process. If you decide to apply for this company, be prepared. It is a very long process, and there is no guarantee that it will end well for you.

      Interview

It's a somewhat long process, but well worth it! It starts with an online application, then a phone interview. If you get through the phone interview, you'll be interviewed in the office by 2 groups of 2 people.

      Interview

I applied through their website. After more than one month, a HR recruiter contacted me and told me to answer the questions many people have already provided here. Once passed this test, I was scheduled for a video interview with the recruiter from San Diego. No more than 15 minutes, really quick. She is extremely nice and the interview is not complicated. I don't know how they decide whether you passed or not, they don't give any clue. I received an e-mail from her the following day to let me know I hadn't made it onto the next stage of the process.
