      Application

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Grainger (Lake Forest, IL) in Feb 2009

      Interview

I had a very simple phone interview with an HR screener. She asked me various resume questions, then she gave me a mini skills test by asking me two basic supply chain questions. I only remember one of them: "If you have 100 widgets, then you increase the number by 10%, then you decrease the number by 10%, do you have more, fewer, or the same number of widgets compared to the beginning?" You'd have fewer (100 + 10 - 11 = 99). Then I went in the office for a second round interview and had four one-on-one interviews with managers.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grainger (Richmond Hill, ON) in Mar 2020

      Interview

The HR interview was thorough - it was an in-depth, granular review of project management and management methodologies, whereas the in-person interview seemed to focus more on fit, skill-set and thought-processes on a more philosophical level. The HR interview was a full hour and comprised of a series of questions listed one after another, whereas the the in-person interview was more conversational (although this interview also had a set of pre-planned questions).

      Question 1

Why are you interested in this role? Where do you see yourself in the future? What is your greatest professional success? What is your greatest professional failure? Name something you are working on improving.
