I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Grant Thornton in Mar 2016
Interview
The recruiting process starts with a pre-interview dinner. It was casual and a chance to meet the person interviewing you and other employees from associate to partner. The next day is the campus interview which was more to get to know you as a person and not grill you on tell me when type scenarios. From there they had a couple casual follow up activities to meet more people from the firm and by this time you will start to see the culture. Its professional, friendly, and people that really care about what is best for you. The final part is another dinner held at a partners house and n office visit the next day. The dinner was the same nature as the other events. The visit itself was very well organized. You are paired with a buddy who walks you around the office and to your interviews and takes you to lunch. It was all a great experience. I feel all the interviews were to learn more about the type of person you are and your fit rather than boring robotic interview questions.
The first round of interviews was a group interview with four people, followed by an English essay. Neither the interview questions nor the essay topic had anything to do with auditing, and the interview questions seemed to be fixed; some interviewees even knew the questions beforehand. If that's true, I think it's unfair.
The interview process at Grant Thornton typically involves multiple stages, including an initial phone screening, a behavioral interview, and a technical or case-based assessment. Candidates may also meet with managers or partners. The process emphasizes cultural fit, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities, often concluding with a final round or offer discussion
