I applied through college or university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Dallas, TX) in May 2016
Interview
The interview process at GT was very enjoyable. The process started with a pre-interview dinner and on-campus interview. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and was conversational. Next, GT held a mixer at a Rangers game. We met before the game for dinner and then attended the game, which was a ton of fun. Lastly, GT held a pre-office visit dinner at the firm so it was a great way to meet people and see the office. The next day was the office visit which lasted most of the day. They provided breakfast and spoke to the potential interns about the firm and the firms culture. There were also some panel discussions so it was a great time to ask questions. Then we had a office tour and had 3 interviews. I interviewed with someone from HR, a partner, and a manager. Again, very conversational. Then a group of potential interns and staff went to lunch downtown. After lunch there was a cupcake social and one final interview. The final interview was with a manager and she told me GT is extending me a offer for a internship.

Grant Thornton hosted a firm night where they introduced us to people. We had a couple of other recruiting events along with a regular interview and office visit. It was overall a good experience and the interview was extremely laid back and conversational.
