I recently went through an interview process that left a lot to be desired. The entire experience was disorganized and frustrating from start to finish.
First, the communication was abysmal. After applying for the position, it took over three weeks just to get an initial response. When I finally received an email, it was a generic message with no personal touch, and the scheduling options were extremely limited, forcing me to rearrange my schedule significantly.
The first interview was conducted via a phone call. The interviewer was 15 minutes late and did not apologize for the delay. Throughout the call, it was clear they had not reviewed my resume or cover letter, as they asked very basic questions that were clearly answered in my application materials. The interviewer seemed distracted and uninterested, often pausing awkwardly and losing their train of thought.
The second round was supposed to be a video interview with a panel of three people. However, only one person showed up, and they seemed to be unaware that it was meant to be a panel interview. This person also had numerous technical difficulties, including poor internet connection and audio issues, which made it hard to communicate effectively. Moreover, the questions asked were not relevant to the position I had applied for, making me question if they even knew what role I was interviewing for.
Between the second and third rounds, there was a complete lack of communication. I sent multiple follow-up emails to get an update on my application status, but I received no responses for over two weeks. When they finally did get back to me, they scheduled the final interview at a time that I had clearly mentioned I was unavailable, forcing me to reschedule once again.
The final interview was the most disappointing of all. It was conducted in person, and when I arrived, the receptionist seemed unaware of my appointment. I was left waiting in the lobby for over 45 minutes past my scheduled time. When the interviewer finally came to get me, they offered no apology for the delay. The interview itself was rushed and superficial, with the interviewer appearing more interested in their phone than our conversation.
After the final interview, I was told I would hear back within a week. However, three weeks passed with no word. When I finally did receive a response, it was a generic rejection email with no feedback or explanation.
Overall, this interview process was a clear indicator of the company's lack of organization and respect for candidates' time. It left a very negative impression, and I would not consider applying to this company again in the future.
