Interview
I was first contacted via Email to set up a phone interview, and after the phone interview we set up and in person interview with two higher tier managers. When I first arrived at the facility, I arrived 5 minutes early and had to wait 15 minutes past my scheduled interview time before one of the two managers came out to take me back to a room for the interview. First, the room was a crowded security looking room and they sat me in the middle of the room on a chair, which was really uncomfortable because I had no where to set my folder and notepad so I could write down information about the company. Secondly, during the entire process they didn’t ask a single question about my skills, work ethic, strengths, etc. they only asked questions about the current company I worked for and grilled me on “how I could possibly handle stepping down from a management position”. I was extremely uncomfortable during the entire interview, and each question I had about the company was answered as if myself as a potential employee wouldn’t matter because making quotas and fulfilling sales were the only things that mattered. They also seemed condescending as to me accepting a part time position when I have been working full time.
Towards the end of the interview when asking if I had any vacations I needed requested off, one of the hiring managers asked me if I was pregnant and needed maternity leave off. Which is not only insulting but is illegal. It was at that point I tried to wrap up the interview so I could get out of the facility.
