I was referred to Guidehouse by someone who worked in the segment I was applying to (Health, Finance, Security, etc) which I think played a huge part in my hiring. After reaching out to my connection, I had a screener interview with a managing consultant where they got a sense for my skill and desired focus area. Then, after 2-3 weeks I was invited to meet with a recruiter. This meeting was relaxed and she informed me that the next steps would be a panel interview with senior staff. A week or so later, I had an interview with a Partner, Associate Director, and a Managing Consultant. They were formal yet welcoming. They asked me about my experiences on teams, a time I'd made a mistake and how I learned from it, and a few other questions. More than anything, it seemed like they were trying to discern if I would fit into the culture and team dynamics. The next week the recruiter emailed me saying she would call me on Friday with news. I hadn't heard from her so I went ahead and called her myself around 4:30 ET. The interview process was long and not always transparent, so I was ready for an answer! It was then that the recruiter extended my offer and asked what salary I had in mind. She accepted my idea automatically, sent me paperwork the following week, and I began to work remotely two weeks later!
