I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at H E B (The Woodlands, TX) in May 2015
Interview
It was a group interview . They had about eight people from their management team as a panel. It made me fell like I was auditioning for American Idol. They even had a lady with the personality of Simon C. There were 13 applicants. Three adults and ten kids in high school. After the first round of questions they sent the three adults home and move the high school kids to the next interview process. Maybe when they are hiring for entry level positions they should say high school kids only. I know HEB doesn't only hire high school kids but this was my experience at that location.

Question 1
They passed out different question card and had everyone take turns answering their question. My question was , "What would you do if you were on a break and a customer ask you for help"?
Virtual interview comes first, most likely a screening interview!
The in-person interview is where they gauge your customer service attitude and ask about your availability. It is a relaxing, low-pressure interview process that still ensures the right people are hired.
