The company invited me to a Meet and Greet for perspective candidates. There were numerous employees of H & M at the event from all over the country such as the Executive West Coast Manager, District Visual Managers, Recruiters etc. The event lasted approximately 3 hours and consisted of the candidates competing against each other by playing a game to see which candidates could answer questions about the H & M employees at the event. I personally met the West Coast executive at the event who asked me to work with his administrative assistant to get on his calendar. With that said.... I emailed his administrative assistant the very next day. I did not get a response for 2 weeks. I then followed up with the administrative assistant who sent a curt response stating someone would reach out to me for a interview the next week. The following Monday I received a decline email stating my skills did not match the District Manager position for which I applied. (Keep in mind I have been a district manager for another firm for over 8 years....) Too add insult to injury the recruiter for the position never returned my calls even though I was referred to her by a friend of hers. Applying at H & M was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered. H & M is currently having a national hiring campaign. Steer clear of this unprofessional company.
