I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at H&R Block in Nov 2009
Interview
I interviewed following completion of their basic tax course. I was unemployed from a senior position with a financial services company and thought this would be a good option to work part time while continuing to look for a full-time position in my field. The interivew questions were geared more to my prior position than related to how I would perform preparing tax returns. I felt the interview was a token conversation, and there was never any intention to consider me for unemployment, due to my being over-qualified.

Interview was after passing their tax course, which is about 30 hours. Interview was a formality as they will hire just about anyone who passes their course or had tax prep experience.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at H&R Block (Chesterton, IN) in Aug 2025
Interview
Upon completing the application through the H&R Block website , I followed up with a call to their office and spoke with a preparer to schedule my interview. I interviewed with two preparers who had a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. They were very welcoming and kind. They asked me about my prior work experience and spoke to me about their experience and backgrounds. It felt more like a conversation than the usual feeling of an interrogative interview, which I liked. They also allowed space for me to ask questions. It was an amazing interview process.
