Interview
I applied online through the website. I was emailed about 2 weeks later asking for an interview and whether or not I wanted to do it in person or via video chat. I opted to interview in person because I figured I could be more personable with the interviewers.
I got to the HOK office and was seated in a large conference room. I had the interview with 2 people who asked about my portfolio and school work. They also asked about my thesis and my thought process as well as the hardest moments of my thesis. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to talk them through my portfolio and if I had any questions for them afterwards. It was more of a conversation than an interrogation.
Two rounds of interview with different team members, be prepared to go in person for the second round. People were friendly and eager to share. Good benefits but the pay offered was too low for the LA location, especially for people with post-grad experience.

Question 1
Describe one of your projects and how you practiced team management and coordination.
I applied online. I interviewed at HOK (Hong Kong) in Jul 2025
Interview
Generally smooth and friendly talk with design director and associate. Whole process 15 mins with 12 mins just me talking. (Means they don’t wanna hire you…) No any response and feedback after the interview. Don’t know why they contacted me. Not worthy preparing.
