      Intern Interview

      May 22, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at HP Inc.

      Interview

I submitted an application online. A couple months later I got a call to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was really casual, asked me a few technical questions. I passed that interview and they flew me to California to interview on site. First they showed me around the facility. Then I sat with three engineers and they asked me technical questions on programmjng and statistics. The next hour i sat with engineers asking technical questions on mechanics. Then i went out to lunch with a few of the engineers. The next hour was behavioral questions with the manager who would be my boss. The next hour was thermal and fluid questions. They sent me an email rejecting me while I was waiting in the airport for my flight home. I can’t believe this is the process for hiring an intern, they expected so much technical knowledge from me. Im a third year mechanical engineering student. There was absolutely no sympathy in that rejection letter even though i just spent days traveling across the country.
