      Field Engineer Interview

      Apr 11, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Halliburton in Apr 2012

      Interview

I got the first round interview by applying online through my career center website at school. There was an info session at school with a following interview the next day. It was all pretty laid back, the guy interviewing me was a field engineer who worked a few hours away and was very informative and willing to answer any questions i had about the job. He asked general questions about how well you are with working with people, high pressure sitiuations, dealing with unhappy customers, etc. Second interview consist of traveling out of city, in my case also out of state to a central location in one of the regions the company works in. You will be there with about 8 or 9 other potential employees from aaround the country. They have another info session that is a little more detailed then you meet with more engineers from the company to go to dinner. The engineers are all really nice people and are pretty fun to talk with. All the engineers have been through all of what your doing and have done it rather recently so they are very informative and easy going. Second day you are up very early to meet for breakfast and to the office location for safety briefing to go visit a field location to observe and learn about the job they are doing at the time. Pay very close attention to everything they tell you about. They will ask detailed questions later so it helps to know what there asking. After the job visit you go to lunch and then back to the office to learn about what all they do there. After they will interview you all again asking you more situational and behavioral questions as well as detailed questions about the day along with a little brain teaser at the end. After all is said and done they say they will get back to you in about a week or two. All in all it was a fun and interesting experience but also very exhausting I think we were all up for about 15 hours that day.

      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Halliburton in Jun 2025

      Interview

After passing the admin screening, I attended the psychometric/aptitude test at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The test was conducted entirely online on our own devices; the venue had weak mobile signal and there was no option to take the test on paper, so a lot of time was lost just connecting and loading questions. Format & content: Mostly English verbal reasoning, plus basic math and simple mechanical/physics items (e.g., “which gear turns to the right”). One section was a long ordering/linear arrangement (positional reasoning) passage followed by five MCQs, time management was critical bcs 1 para for 5 MCQs.
