I had a phone screen with the hiring manager and then I came on site and met with a team member, a cross functional manager and the hiring manager. At no point was I introduced to a recruiter to help manage my experience.
At the end of the on- site interview the hiring manager was already starting to soft close me, even stating I was the front runner for the role.
I came in for round two, where I met with two cross functional leaders. From my perspective the interviews went fine, but there were a couple of things that I found concerning.
1. I received push back when I asked about how other groups are held accountable and support customer success.
2. I got a clear message the customer success was meant to be seen and not heard. That part of the role for customer success is to make it easier for other teams to do their jobs.
3. Customer success doesn't have a seat at the table.
To be honest, I was surprised that I didn't get the offer. I didn't get a phone call, just an email saying my feedback wasn't good. I was unable to get any actionable feedback therefore making this experience a waste of time.
