I was actively recruiting at the time when and received a call back from the hiring manager for this position (who already had other candidates further along in the process).
Pros: I appreciated the transparency in describing the current situation and also sharing salary information up front.
Cons: I was not a fan of the interview structure. Rather than asking me questions about my background and experience, the hiring manager went straight into talking about the role after a brief introduction and literally just asked for "my reactions" to everything that was said. While I understand that some interviews (for sales roles for example) are structured that way to see if people can "sell themselves" I don't think its the best fit for every team/role. It came off as very impersonal.
Tips for those interviewing: make sure you're prepared to connect the dots between your experience and the role without being given any specific questions on your background. Familiarize yourself with this style of interviewing and learn how to lead/steer the conversation given the unstructured format.
