I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Winston-Salem, NC) in Sep 2015
Interview
I applied on a Saturday, got a call that Wednesday to come in for an interview the next day. I came in 10 minutes early but she wasn't ready so I had to wait an extra 30 minutes. She came down got me and she started asking me casual questions. She was so cool and laid back. We talked about my schooling and what I wanted to be in the future. She asked about myself and my availability. She was surprised it was my first job, but she told me that I could do it which really motivated that I would do well there. She said she would call me in Monday or Tuesday for paperwork, but then I got a email that Tuesday saying I didn't get the job.
Straightforward process and not too difficult of questions. Went to corporate office, there were several other candidates there to interview as well. All went through interview process around the same time other candidates in separate areas, and then rejoined once interview was completed to start onboarding.
I applied online. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Greensboro, NC) in Jan 2026
Interview
I apply through the Harris Teeter careers website.
Then In-Person, lasts about 20 minutes
Very casual and conversational.
They ask Basic questions like “Tell me about yourself.”
“How would you handle an unhappy customer?”
“What would you do if an item scans the wrong price?”
Pretty simple and straight forward, the hiring manager was nice. I'm a full time student so it was a low level part time position. If you have even average conversational skills you should be just fine.
