I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hensel Phelps (Manhattan, KS) in Oct 2017
Interview
The interview was actually enjoyable. I've interviewed with some companies whose interviewers seemed like they did not want to be there or just didn't care. The man I interviewed with was very knowledgeable and asked very practical questions, and responded to my questions and statements very well. Overall a great interview.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Hensel Phelps (Pittsburgh, PA) in Oct 2019
Interview
Great. They were very well organized for the interview process. It felt very personable, and I was able to be myself during the interview process. I enjoyed that they were so kind and interested in what my plans were apart from their company. They also encouraged me to pursue what I wanted to do whether their company was involved or not.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hensel Phelps (Irvine, CA) in Oct 2019
Interview
Initially met with a PM at a jobsite and then progressed to the district office in Irvine. Had round robbin style interview with 5 individuals. Very casual conversations during the round robbin interviews.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hensel Phelps
Interview
I talked to a recruiter at a career fair and a week later I was contacted for an interview at the reginal offices. They flew me in, all expenses covered. When I got there, I was introduced to the other 12 candidates. Shortly after, they took us to a jobsite and talked to us about the company. After that, they drove us to a restaurant with a bunch of current employees ranging from field engineers up to operation managers. Everybody was very friendly and talked greatly about Hensel Phelps.
The next morning all the candidates had to be at the regional offices by 8 A.M. for a quick breakfast and a short presentation about the company and its benefits. When the presentation was over, we were given a schedule with the name and room numbers of all 6 people who were interviewing us. The interviews where very relaxed and the interviewers where very friendly and conversational. Didn’t feel like an interview at all, it was more like a casual conversation. After the 6 interviews they gave us lunch and thanked us for attending. About a week later I was called by a recruiter and was offered a position.
