I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hertz in Nov 2012
Interview
I was initially contacted by a corporate recruiter and we had a short discussion about the position as well as my background and then a much more comprehensive review with the same recruiter. This led to an interview with the regional operations manager over the phone (30 minutes) and then another interview with the same RM over Skype (30 minutes) and then finally a phone discussion/interview with the regional VP (45 minutes). I received a phone call from the recruiter 2-3 days later and was hired. Most of the questions were "boiler plate" and predictable. They did not contact any of my references but they did perform a background check and employer verification's and drug test. The most disappointing thing was they had a freeze on all non-critical corporate travel so I did not get to meet anyone from the company until I reported for my first day, this was very telling as this type of short sighted planning was pervasive throughout my time with them.

Question 1
They placed a lot of emphasis on my ability to work significant hours and made it a point to make clear to me that his was not a 9 to 5 job so obviously I was asked in various ways about my ability to put in long days/weeks?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hertz in Jun 2014
Interview
Had an hour drive to location to meet with Area manager and General Manager. Very brash, unprofessional process. They did not even look over my resume ands told me "I don't know who you are". I had to sell myself on my entire resume and past experience. All they covered was how much selling additional insurance was important. Seemed like there wasn't a interview guide they were going off. Very unexpected experience, especially with curse words being used.

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hertz (Key West, FL)
Interview
This took place so many years ago... one of the most challenging aspect of the process was the length of time it took to clear background. Over three weeks.
