      Regional Marketing Operations Manager Interview

      Dec 12, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at HiBob in Dec 2024

      Interview

5 interviews and a take home over the course of 3 months. 4 via Zoom, 1 on-site (NYC location). Take home test was pretty straightforward, though a tad long. All the interviewers asked pretty simple questions, with no curveballs. Almost TOO simple, as one of the interviews just asked me two easy questions about my work history and instead just let me ask my own for the rest of the meeting. Felt like they weren't really experienced. The final interviewer, the department head, gave me a semi-weird vibe, asked me several odd social media experience questions (which was NOT part of the job description, though I do have that experience) and cut the interview short before I could finish asking all my questions about the role/company. After over a week of silence (they said they were going to get back to me much sooner), I received a rejection letter saying they went with someone with more "UK Marketing Operations Experience". This reasoning makes no sense for 3 reasons: 1) all 5 of the interviewers distinctly told me this role was to specifically target the US, Canada, and Latin America and not once was the UK ever brought up, 2) this role is based in the US (New York), 3) I explained multiple times to the interviewers that I have over a decade of GLOBAL marketing experience, including the UK. This entire interview process felt like a bait and switch. They (and the job description) told me the job targets the Americas, now they said it's for the UK after the fact. Total waste of my time, headspace, and energy. The fact that this is the kind of disingenuous feedback I get after THREE MONTHS of interviews is disrespectful.
