I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Hortonworks (Bengaluru) in Aug 2015
Interview
They had 3 face to face rounds.
1. The first round he asked me implement LRU cache. Implemented that.
2. Then he asked me question about primary and secondary nodes, a question on split brain problem.
The second round was asked to implement the hash table myself.
The next question was how to implement a ordered hash map.

Question 1
The crazy round was architect round, before I could start answering he gave an answer, and kept moving forward, looked like they have already rejected me due to first two rounds, he was going through the motions, cutting loop could have been a viable solution :).

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Hortonworks (Bengaluru) in Feb 2018
Interview
It was a direct call from the recruiter based on my Linkedin profile. There was an initial skill review followed by a technical discussion with the engineering team over the phone. The interviewer dialed in 20 minutes late, however, politely apologized. Next one hour the interviewer asked me questions on various aspects of distributed systems and application development including security, computer network etc. All questions were based on various practical situations and were quite interesting. Overall I liked the interview process with the exception that I didn't receive any feedback from the company which is least that I expected. The process took 3 days.
