How would you handle a difficult customer over the phone?

Everyone has bad days... and I know what it’s like to be the customer but the best experiences I had with customer service is the ones who made me laugh in a bad situation or were very empathetic about the situation. You can almost always turn a bad situation into a positive. You just have to not let their bad emotions transfer to you. You have to take control of the negative situation and “make” it positive.
