I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Oct 2021
Interview
The interview was a 3 stage interview process. First a quick chat with the recruiter, then I met with the hiring manager - more of a cultural screening/are we a good fit kind of interview. The final interview was approximately 4.5 hours with 5 different interviews. I met different members of the team I'd be joining, ranging from other Engineering Leads to the Director (and in between).
Two of the 5 interviews were technical interviews - one to test my understanding of JavaScript (scope & closures, the prototype, context, spread, etc) and the other more of an algorithms question. The other 3 were behavioral/leadership interviews, asking questions to see what kind of leader I am and how I interact and communicate with other's on my team.
There we times in the technical interview where I struggled, and the interviewer provided a safe environment for me to ask questions and receive guidance. It felt like more of a collaboration than a judgement type interview and it's exactly the way that I like to lead interviews. It gave me a real sense of how we'd collaborate if we were working together.
I applied to HubSpot because it was rated #1 best tech company to work for by Business Insider. After going through their interview process I can see why. Everyone on the team exemplified their culture - one of inclusion and empathy - and they seemed like genuinely happy people.
I received an offer from them and was both surprised and extremely grateful. I ended up accepting a position with a different company, however, I highly recommend considering HubSpot as the next step in your career. If the interviewers and the interview process gives any indication of their culture and values - I see exactly why they're rated #1 best tech company to work.

Question 1
They asked situational questions (tell me a time..., how would you..., etc) about dealing with leading and growing direct reports, dealing with unforeseen project changes, process improvement, etc.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Step-1: Recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn and asked for a resume.
Step-2: 30 mins introduction call to discuss the job position and my background and exp.
Step-3: 30mins introction call with Director to discuss my experience and background. asked me to explain a complex project that I worked on from the design to delivery.
Decision: Recruiter sent a generic email saying they won't move forward with me.

Interview
Recruiter Screen->Online coding assignment->Hiring Manager followed by one system design and one coding round. I did excellent on all the interviews, got thumbsup from interviewers during the interview still received no offer. Only response was an email saying i left a positive impression on the team and that i have solid background/experience and no other feedback. Got an email from recruiter with a link to set up a feedback call but recruiter declined the call afterwards and never cared to respond back not even through email. Even while scheduling the final round of interviews she never responded to my question when asked is this the final round of interview. I believe the company/recruiter doesn't respect people investing their time for there interviews. People investing 7-8 hours of there time at least deserve some feedback. Really bad experience.
