The questions were pretty standard. It took 45 minutes for the screening which I felt was unnecessary since a good chunk of the time was the recruiter talking about random things not related to the job. I am assuming they were trying to screen for cultural fit but it kind of just came off as rambling. I passed the first round of the interview and was moved forward to the next phase which was to complete a case study and then interview with the hiring manager, however, I decided to withdraw my candidacy due to multiple red flags during the interview including the recruiter speaking poorly of other candidates. What ultimately turned me away was salary transparency. I shared my expected salary which was within the range on the job posting, however, recruiter told me no one was going to get anything higher than the mid-range of the salary posted and that they could not pay me what I wanted. She emphasized there was no room for negotiation. Mind you, I was already overqualified for the job and was basically offered a below market value rate before even getting to the offer phase. Wanting top-tier performance for entry level pay is indicative of a company lacking overall transparency.
