They do not do interviews which is probably how I got the job, cuz I'm a nervous wreck. You just fill out the online information and wait for them to send you a couple emails. Can take months.

Interview
I went to the IRS in-person hiring event. It was a really simple process of registering and fingerprinting. No actual interview questions were asked. The whole process took about three hours.
Direct hire. Needed basic info and was hired on the spot. It was quite a simple process, just long. Come with everything they request or you may be turned away.
No interview was required for this position, just applied and was offered the position. Began as a clerk and did that for two years to get my foot in the door.
