I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Illumina
Interview
I was internally referred and got a Video Interview request. Lets see how the next step goes. Interview was super easy; or read the interview questions below! Next step will be a call from recruiter followed by on-site interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Not all organization changes are clearly explained and/or communicated. What have you done when you found out about an unexpected change or were confused by a change?
2) 2) A manufacturing operator informs you that they noticed a foreign particle in a reagent bulk solution after dispensing into its final container. There is no specification for the reagent bulk regarding foreign particle contamination. The Manufacturing Area Manager tells you that the reagent bulk solution is a “Research Use Only” material, and that we have committed to shipping this solution to the customer in 24 hours. Given this information, would you release the material to the customer? Why or why not? What actions would you take to execute on that decision?
3) 3) You are part of a team implementing a process change to replace a product container (the product is a liquid) from one that is of a translucent material to one that is an opaque material. Is this a minor or major change? What are the necessary deliverables and the sequence of execution in order to implement this change?
4) What is calibration and its importance?
There were several interviews with team members. All the questions were standard behavioral and mindset-related questions that weren’t too difficult to answer. Role was fleshed out more thoroughly in the interviews
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Illumina (Cambridge, England)
Interview
teams call followed by face to face with a presentation and meeting the team. it was not too technical process to follow and easy very welcoming and process was standard
The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Illumina (Eindhoven) in Aug 2022
Interview
The interview process took literally 2 month, we me having to follow-up each time. There were 6 interviews, all with people with important positions, and took a lot of my time and their own time. After 3 weeks not hearing a single word, I received a call that there is a hiring freeze! How on earth is it possible that a huge business doesn’t know they have a hiring freeze and has to wait 3 weeks to tell me this? This is absurd and a big lie and unfair to me dedicating this much time, if you were not happy with me, you could already reject my application after first interview.
