I applied at several restaurants and had a few rounds of interviews because I really wanted to work there! The interview process is very fast 10-15 mins so you have to arrive well prepared to answer a few questions confidently and concisely. After four interviews I noticed a pattern, either a shift manager or store manager will come out and introduce themselves, ask you why in n out? what do you know about the company? how do you handle stress, why did you leave your previous employer (if you have previous customer service experience) and an off the wall question like what are you most proud of? then finish with do you have any questions for me. Always ask questions and try to prolong the conversation for another 1-2 minutes, it shows that you’re interested and can make small talk with customers. I was hired on the spot at the fourth restaurant that I applied but at the other locations I had to come in for a second interview. It really depends on their needs, management, and ultimately how you perform the first time around. Timeline: applied at their website, received an email to schedule interview that same day, one and only interview two days later, hired on the spot, received onboarding email two days later.
