I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Insight Global in Sep 2014
Interview
I was brought into a room with a liaison from Insight Global to talk to two (what I presume to be) hiring managers from the company and we had a discussion about the job, possible daily problems and the hours. It was very cordial and relaxed and they asked me various questions regarding what I knew about the work conditions and how comfortable I was with certain aspects.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me if I knew what a "hot/cold room" was. I had never actually heard of the terminology.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Insight Global
Interview
I had one brief face to face interview.
The recruiters in the Colorado office who called me would tell me that they had jobs that might interest me (just to get me on the phone).
During the course of the the phone conversation, they would immediately ask for my current pay rate (to "price tag" shop) & for my references (which they can use as future account leads). When I refused to disclose my pay and my references up front, those "job openings", they'd tell me, are "filled already".
No decent recruiter will ask for your current pay (since that is private info) and for your references upfront (especially when no client interview or job offer is forthcoming).
I am through with tacky, inexperienced recruiters.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Insight Global (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2017
Interview
I've had numerous encounters with the recruiters here. Pretty much most of it was a horrid experience and giant waste of time. Word of caution they ask a lot of unorthodox questions. They'll ask for places and names. Especially on other interviews you may have. They basically are using you for leads. I've had other people receive calls from them trying to get them to work for them or trying to get them as a client. And they all go off the same script. verbatim. A very long script. And they're very good at not calling you back, following through etc.

Question 1
Whatever is in the script on their system. Sometimes they'll have questions from clients. Which tend to be as bad as the script
I interviewed at Insight Global (New York, NY) in Jan 2017
Interview
I don't think they have a lot of relevant positions available. They use you to get hiring managers so they can get on their vendor list. Increase their business. Pretty slick.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They ask you to give 3 references. Do not give any reference that is a hiring manager. They call them up and try to get business from them. At that point, they don't care about you. Magically the position disappearts and they are setting up meetings with your references. How do I know? the references I gave told me.
