I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Instacart
Interview
Intro call with Recruitment manager, followed by take home Data Challenge and SQL test.
Had two days to complete Data Challenge (the output had to be a 5 slide deck). When I submitted the deck on a Monday night, I was told I would have feedback by Thursday. This was now 8 days ago, and despite follow ups earlier this week, I have not heard from the recruitment team.
It is completely unprofessional, incredibly rude, and totally unacceptable to ghost candidates who put in significant time and effort (10-12 hours on the deck, data and SQL test) into the interview process. The very least that is owed a candidate, especially one who has interacted with employees at the company during the hiring process is a rejection email.
It shows a complete lack of maturity as a company and it is clear, from other reviews, that this type of behavior is acceptable and normal for the culture at Instacart.
I have happily accepted other Strategy & Ops roles at several other tech companies, and am admittedly grateful that this type of behavior was identified early on in the interview process at Instacart. It saved me a lot of time.
