I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intuit in Aug 2024
Interview
I applied and got a call.
Next -> 2 LC medium qns as phone screen
Next -> Exactly same as described in the below comment. Crud API + follow up qns.
However, I couldn't complete the problem in 90 mins and ended up taking extra time and lunch break to wrap some things up. After 3 hours of back to back being on call, the last round was Hiring manager round.
This round was really bad as the HM almost mocked me that I looked relieved that I can stop coding now. In following qns he mentioned everyone says they are good but hard to believe me because I couldnt complete the CRUD problem. He questioned me if I am expecting that someone will help me to get things done because they want someone who is independent and needs no help at all.
Overall it felt like they didn't like me because I couldn't finish the problem but also they seemed really disappointed during the interview itself, while talking to each other that I didn't consider approach A while I was still working on the problem. This overall hit me bad in terms of how candidates are treated by these big companies and affected my performance in upcoming interviews.
To top it the recruiter never replied to my follow-up/ thankyou email because looks like I was rejected ? Will never know coz they never informed at all.
Overall, if you are really good at writing an endpoint , persisting data and getting response for this and write a unit test without using AI tools but using google, you will pass. I would advice focus just on that if you want to pass.
Applied through referral after initially applying on the careers page. The process started with a recruiter screen discussing my background, tech stack, and role expectations. This was followed by a 1-hour phone screen with coding questions using the Glider platform. The onsite loop was around 6 hours and included a backend hands-on exercise, system design discussions, and deep dives into my solution and past experience. Recruiter communication was clear and timely throughout the process.
