I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Sacramento, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
The recruiter who contacted me was extremely friendly and just wants to get a general overview of your experience and what peaked your interest in a career with JCPenney. You will then get an interview with a store manager then the regional/market team leaders.
Not quite sure if this is a company tactic but once I met the store management and field team, the interview feels more like an interrogation than an interview. Very much feel like they are trying to find you lying about your experience.
I currently work for a large competitor of JCPenney and oversee all store operations including the equivalent JCPenney position I applied for and by the end of the interviews, felt as if I didn't even qualify for their position.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney in Sep 2022
Interview
I was recruited by the GM. Never filled out the application till the interview. Was told it would be mine because he saw how I worked, then never heard from them.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Columbus, OH) in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview process was very timely. From the first interview with the recruiter to the last interview with the district manager, the process was under three weeks. There were three interviews in total before I received an offer.
