      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Plano, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Started with a phone interview with the college recruiter and then two more interviews with buyers. All within a 2 day span. A few days later they told me they were flying me down to headquarters for a final round a week later which consisted of a tour, a personality test, 3 rounds of in-person interviews, and a case study with other applicants. I was offered the position over the phone the following week of the onsite interview.

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at JCPenney (Plano, TX) in Mar 2018

      Interview

There is an initial phone interview with a recruiter, then 2 more (mine were both within a week) with people in the company that you will most likely be working with. I am not from the DFW area so about a month later they flew me down for a 2 day in person interview session. Day 1: There I was given a tour of the campus and given a test, which asked a series of questions. You can't really study for this, it is more for common sense and problem solving abilities. The test also includes a portion regarding your personality and work style. Just be honest and try your best. Day 2: Interviews similar to speed dating. It is 2 JCP employees and you, asking a series of questions. There is 2-3 (?) rounds of this. As long as you show personality and answer the questions thoroughly it really isn't a bad experience. ALL of the employees I met with during this round were so friendly, which really brought my initial nerves down. Last, you are with a group of 4 prospective interns and you are given a project based on "homework" given prior to final interviews. There are 4 employees who analyze how you work with a team and how well you prepared. This part is really about working together to come up with a great idea to pitch to the employees. Overall, positive experience, and they do a great job of analyzing who you are as a person, without making the tasks overwhelmingly difficult.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at JCPenney (Plano, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

I had three phone interviews before making it to the final round of interviews. The final round of interview consisted of two half days. The first day was a tour of the JCP campus and a few timed tests. The next day was a series of group interviews followed by presenting in a group on a case study you were all assigned prior to the interview. Groups were assigned just before presenting.
