You could clearly tell that like most retailers, JCPenney was just looking for bodies on the floor.
The hourly rate they offer you is a joke, as I could get hired other places for $15/hr. where I live. Plus, $12/hr. or $13/hr for all the work they ask someone like me with over 10 years of experience to do? The interview wasn’t much of one, as I wasn’t asked that much about myself or my experiences. Although the location I applied for had a full time position open and I submitted interest in that position primarily, I was given part time employment in another department after I was mentioned to be considered for full time. Even though I highlighted my extensive experience, and directly asked them, they were unwilling to go higher on my hourly wage.

Question 1
I was asked a little about myself, and very briefly about my experience. Not much else out of the ordinary, but then again, this wasn’t an ordinary interview. I was contacted via Indeed by the hiring manager for that store, and was promptly set up for an interview.
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
The interview process begins with an initial screening to review qualifications and experience.
