I applied in-person. I interviewed at JCPenney (Oshkosh, WI) in Feb 2011
Interview
The interview was casual and relaxed. It is best to have a resume on hand when arriving. I was asked questions pertaining to past experience, past work, and my goals at Penny's if I were to be hired.
I found the position on a job website, I responded by telephone to set up an interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviewer should have your resume in hand when you are being interviewed. You should have a copy with you at that time to refer to if necessary. I was asked questions such as: what were your job responsibilities at your prior job. What did you like about your past job. If you haven't worked before, it's okay, Penny's hires associates who have no retail experience. Past experience does change your starting pay from the minimum wage.
It was fairly straightforward and easy. The woman I interviewed with was nice and not very intimidating. They took about a week to get back with me about an interview after I applied for the position.
I applied online. I interviewed at JCPenney (Alpharetta, GA) in Sep 2024
Interview
I was contacted by email about my application. Contacted HR Supervisor and scheduled an interview date and time. Met with HR the next day for an in person interview. Very informative conversation with HR Supervisor.
Very efficient and the interviewer was very nice and gave me a lot of time to answer questions. The questions were not hard and they were very manageable. It was more so a discussion rather than an interview.
