They asked me to a write code that takes twitters public feed and get various statistics on them. I wrote it in Java and at the time, there were no 3rd party libraries so it took me a good 35 hours of development. Dumb on my part to spend that much time on a job interview. I got asked to come in for an in person interview and took a tour of their Des Moines office. It wasn't super welcoming, lights off heads down kind of development. The person interviewing me was a developer and didn't seem to know how to interview a person so I lead my own interview basically. When they offered me a job, it was a part time internship with a pay of $15/hr even though I applied for a full time developer position (I had 2 years full time experience under my belt already), not an internship. I was EXTREMELY offended by this offer but didn't want to burn any bridges so I called them back and got voice mail and left a message asking for them to return my call. They never returned my call. Hopefully because they were too embarrassed of how they conducted themselves throughout the whole process.
