Phone interview which was easy - all about my background HR seemed kinda meh. Brought in for an in person interview where I met with the person I would have reported to and then the director. All in all I got weird vibes. It is located in a very unusual spot, parking was a nightmare (afternoon interview, Twins game going on) and when I asked the receptionist if they validate parking the look of utter shock and disbelief made me feel uncomfortable. The meeting with the manager was okay - she kept going on and on about how she recently moved from WI to MN for this job. Very little was asked about why I wanted to job, it was, again, talking about my resume, but not in a "tell me about a time" type more"what did you do their?".
Meeting with the director was a waste of time, he talked about his resume, bragged about the U of M, a lame tattoo he had and how great he is at his job. He then offered me a sample pack of jerky by saying "Here, see what we're about" and while I flipped it over to look at the back he said "Well, but don't eat it". Ummm...weird and again, uncomfortable!
I never met with HR at all which I found incredibly strange and when I asked when I would hear back they all said they didn't know. After a day passed I reached out via email to HR and they said that they were still interviewing and would "circle back around". Literally 4 weeks after I had a in person interview I got an email back saying the position had been filled. I think I dodged a bullet, too many weird vibes - someone else here said they felt it and it's hard to describe, these people almost have a high brow, presumptuous feel. You're selling jerky, but that doesn't give you the right to be a jerk.
