I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jane Street
Interview
Applied online and received a response very quickly to set up an interview. The interview was a 30 minute phone interview and was all quantitative. A bunch of mental math questions. 1 million minus 111, 4 percent of 97, 42 squared. Then I was asked how confident I was asked getting all 3 right, 2 out of 3 right, and 1 out of 3 right (giving percentages). Then I was asked which question do I think I most likely got wrong and how confident I was that I got that one right. This answer was supposed to agree with the 1st 3 percentages I had stated.
Afterwards got a cube dipped in paint question. and a flip a coin 4 times and get a dollar for each heads. What is the expected value of the game if I am allowed infinite tries.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The confidence question. I didn't know how to agree my confidence percentages.
Initial application and online assessment. Had a first round behavioral interview where they asked me about myself, my experiences, and a couple of brain teasers. The interviewer was very nice.
Phone interviews (at least 3) - questions were of mixed difficulty (some pretty hard) but the interviewers were friendly and they gave helpful hints. Kind of fun - review probability and game-type questions.

Interview
I first applied in google form answer basic questions about me and with that I had to upload my resume and transcript. I don't remember after how long I got an interview time to choose and did my first round of interview.
