Straightforward but terrible offer and then blackballed from all future jobs with them. I got offered $183k for the associate director role. As a matter of fact, two hiring managers had wanted me on the team and I interviewed with both at the same time. They had expressed interest nd had asked me which team I wanted to join. So I counter offered given I had a similar job offer for $220k at another company. J&J required me to move across country, did not budge on the offer, and were not willing to meet me half way. My other company was fully remote, paid about 40k more, and was open to negotiating. Unsurprisingly I went with the other company. But ever since I rejected J&J I cannot even make it to the screening round. I have been blackballed after rejecting a lowball offer. I think the recruiter was not fair or caring , though according to Reddit J&J is known for lowballing applicants. Please fix your recruiting practices and make them fair.
