I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Justworks (Redmond, WA) in Aug 2016
Interview
The process started similar to what you see everywhere else. HR call, the phone interview. After that they set up the onsite interviews (three 45 minutes technical and culture fit ones), when I asked for travel accommodations they said we are a "frugal company", we only fly you over for the final round and we changed the interview to be over the Skype. We had the the Skype round and they scheduled the actual onsite.
Again because they are very frugal, for travel accommodations they said that they won't book a hotel room and it's going to be a fly in/out. I asked for direct flights a few times since flying in and out from the west coast is already too much work and lay over makes it worse.
They booked one stop flights regardless.
My overnight 10 hour travel on the middle seat (my ticket would not let me change the seats) landed in JFK on schedule at 12:50 pm and I had interviews starting at 2:00 pm which as you'd expect if you have traveled to NY I didn't make it on time.
I hot there at 2:40 pm and people were a little grumpy that I was late. It turned out that they don't communicate the travel plans internally.
Exhausted from the travel, I figured out the issue and explained that it was out of my hand.
I tried to be sharp and energetic by drinking some coffee and talked to Engineering VP that was a very nice person and a product manager that did the culture fit interview.
My return flight was scheduled in a way that if it was not delayed I would have missed it.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Justworks (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview experience was positive and well-organized. The interviewer was professional and clearly explained the role, team structure, and expectations. The conversation was informative and provided helpful insight into the company and its interview process.

Question 1
- They asked me how to design a database for Jira?
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Justworks (New York, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
First call was with a senior engineer asking HR questions? Code signal assessment afterwards which asked you to do a lot in under 90 mins. Using map of maps, sorting, lots of tedious things. You have to finish each question in order (no skipping around). Did not even have to decency to send an automated rejection email. Just ghosted me after. Don’t waste your time.

Interview
1. Recruiter Call
2. Online Assessment
3. Hiring Manager Call
4. ~4 hour Onsite
It was lengthy, and honestly I feel if you are going to have a long interview process, then you might as well split the 4 hour interview into multiple days, and make it online, with a shorter onsite.

Typical Behavioral Questions
For the tech questions, they're pretty easy, dont overthink it. I feel nerves will play a bigger factor than difficulty.
