Senior Manager In Marketing Area Interview

      Jun 7, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Kaiser Permanente

      Interview

Initially did a phone screen with Recruiter. Basic questions looking to verify skills listed on resume. Also be prepared to discuss salary. Salaries listed on GD seem to be inline. 1. Came in for interview with hiring manager. Mostly behavior questions looking for a fair amount of detail in responses. 2. Invited back to meet hiring manager' boss, someone else familiar with the position and a case with the hiring manager. All three were separate mtgs. More behavior questions and qualitative case questions in first 2 mtgs. The case with HR was qualitative and quantitative, similar to B-school cases. 3. Ask to have phone interview with someone on west coast that works with this position. 4 Received call HR and was told it was down to 2 people and I would here something in a week. 5.Two weeks later had to send in a case that centered around lots of data. They also contacted my references which I was told and is listed on the website as being the last step. But the.... 6.Then asked me to come in and present the case. 7. Was told more interviewing had to be done and I would hear something in 2 weeks, totally going against the message from HR. About a month later was contacted and told the job req. was being canceled and was not going to be filled. It was the most disrespectful process of which I'd been a part. This process went on for over 4 months. In looking back if to do it again I would have removed myself form consideration but was always told one more week. I'm not sure it's a reflection of the co. or HR (I think they were frustrated by the lingering of the process also) but was totally engineered by the HM in marketing area. They showed no regard for my time or any professionalism and can only imagine they would be very difficult to work for. If interesting in marketing area and are selected to be in process ask very specific questions about process and be conscious of your time. The treatment during interview process is typically very indicative of working environment.
