Three rounds: hiring manager, supporting director, and a round table of coordinators willing to answer my questions.
The opportunity to ask current coordinators questions, showed the company's transparency and was appreciated.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kaplan (Newark, NJ) in Apr 2014
Interview
Group Interview with all applicants answering questions in turn and sometimes at random. It was a very interactive process which involved not only talking to the interviewer but also with fellow applicants and discussing various subjects involving technicalities of the job and student interaction, trouble shooting issues related to equipment used at the facility.

Question 1
What will you do when you don't agree to a resolution suggested by your colleague?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kaplan (New York, NY) in Nov 2009
Interview
#1 - Online application. This process was simple no different than other online applications
#2 - Initial phone screen. Standard 30 minute conversation to screen applicants. Questions included - tell me about yourself, tell me why you're interested in the position, and high-level background on content. The interviewer then went into a discussion about the position, basic job functions, and general timeline of the hiring process.
#3 - In-person interview. Met with hiring manager and went in depth of my experience. Also met with the hiring manager's colleague. They asked lots of questions about one's ability to work in a quick pace, handle multiple responsibilities, and general interest in education.
