I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kiewit Corporation (Vancouver, WA) in Nov 2012
Interview
The interview process at Kiewit is very structured. They have a list of questions that they read off in order. I was completing my last year of a construction management degree when I received a job offer with Kiewit. The first interview was on campus. For the second interview, they flew me to their district office, where I interviewed with the HR manager and one of their regional managers. Again, they read their questions off of a list and for the most part did not request that I elaborate on my answers. Everybody was very kind and respectful, even encouraging during the process. I was offered a job within a week of interviewing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked very standard questions, such as: Strengths/Weaknesses? Why Kiewit? What would you do if your coworkers did not perform their tasks with enthusiasm? What is one thing that you are not proud of? Are your willing to travel? Are you willing to work long hours?
Talked to a recruiter first then talked to a senior manager in my position. You could talk job language with and could definitely relate to each other on day to day job experience
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kiewit Corporation (Omaha, NE) in Aug 2025
Interview
Nice and easy two rounds. Not too much focus on technical. Mainly to see your personality. No need to be to worry about it. Smooth and efficient. Got 1 hr interview + 2 rounds and offer within 3 weeks of applying.
Overall an easy process. Had a phone screening and then went to an interview onsite followed by tour of yard. Talked to three different interviewers. The company hosted me with a paid for car and hotel.
