Question 1
How well do you work with different personalities?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kimley-Horn
Interview
A 30 minute phone screen with a recruiter going over my interests, what I'm looking for and what Kimley-Horn is looking for. She asked me my salary range and a number of situational interview questions. There were a few red flags that I noticed during my interview. When I asked the recruiter her favorite thing about working for Kimley-Horn, she paused for about 5 seconds and struggled to come up with a decent answer. I asked about the culture and she said, "very hard working." Take that as you wish but to me that sounds like a lot of churn and burn and long hours. All of their positions are in-office with no option for hybrid/remote. She also mentioned they close the office a few hours early on Friday afternoons but "you are expected to make up those hours Monday-Thursday." She was very clearly reading questions off a document so the interview felt a little uncomfortable and not conversation like at all. I was told I would receive a decision by the end of the week and over 4 weeks later, I haven't heard anything.
