I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at KinderCare Learning Centers (Anchorage, AK) in Jun 2018
Interview
There was a hiring fair beforehand where they advertised the job. They had leaflets advertising their benefits. Call beforehand to find out what roles are open. They didn't have an interview at the hiring fair, but you apply by paper and online then get an interview later. The interview asked you easy questions, and they didn't have high standards for teachers. It's a job anyone could apply for if they're willing to smile and put in the work for it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What's your experience?
Do you have your certification?
Fairly easy and in person. Was asked about the ability to remain calm, how you would handle certain situations, and then immediately taken to a classroom to shadow following the interview. The teachers in that room monitored how I interacted with the kids and taught me about how the room was ran. Was then tested on the information I learned.
