Applied through the KitePharma website. Got a call from a recruiter for an initial phone interview in a week. The recruiter was very amateur and inexperienced in dealing with a candidate, he asked some surprising questions with my role in current employer while everything was clearly mentioned in the resume, then he admitted that he didn't go through the resume properly. Questions were very basic and he seemed to agree with what i was saying.
Then he asked how I would be able to cope up with challenges in the pharmaceutical industry where I had no experience. I gave a modest answer. He abruptly cut the conversation saying I didn't have pharmaceutical experience and termed me as unfit for the role and hung up.
I have never had an unpleasant experience with any of the recruiters before and this one was way off track. My resume didn't say or portray that i had pharmaceutical experience if that's the case he shouldn't have scheduled an interview with a candidate who doesn't match their initial criteria.
The HR folks need to align and revisit their process to offer better interview experience for candidates.
